FIRST LEG
The third installment of The Amazing Race Teen Edition began at McDonald’s-Subang Parade. Host Matthew handed the starting clue to the four teams. Then the teams discovered that they must head to the gym which is Celebrity Fitness. All teams scattered in front of Celebrity Fitness. However they were unable to search for the envelope which contained their next clue. Wan Jun & Eng Khim were the first ones to spot the clue that instructed to head to Bata. Not long after, Ryan & Sheng Ling found their next clue too, leaving Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen and Annie behind.
Wan Jun & Eng Khim and Ryan & Sheng Ling raced to Bata. Both teams obtained their clue and excitedly received directions to the first Pit Stop which was at Sakae Sushi. It was a footrace battle for first place. Wan Jun & Eng Khim outran Ryan & Sheng Ling rendering them a first place finish while Ryan & Sheng Ling took second.
As Wan Jun & Eng Khim and Ryan & Sheng Ling checked in for a 1st and 2nd place finish, Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen and Annie were still struggling to find their clue at Celebrity Fitness. In the end, Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen found the clue and continued their journey to Bata. As the all-girl-team left for Bata, Annie found her next clue and joined them to Bata, hoping to catch up with the team ahead.
It was Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen who were the third to arrive at the Pit Stop. However, they were yielded by Wan Jun & Eng Khim causing them to wait for 2 minutes before checking in to the Pit Stop. However, Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen secured a third place finish despite being yielded. Precisely 3 minutes later, Annie checked in the Pit Stop in last place. Fortunately for her, this was the first of three pre-determined non-elimination points in the Race. The bad news was that she will have to leave the pit stop 5 minutes later than rest of the teams as a penalty for being last in a non-elimination leg.
SECOND LEG Departing
the Pit Stop at Sakae Sushi in first place at 11:27pm, Wan Jun &
Eng Khim received their clue and discovered that they must head to cold
storage to obtain their next clue. Leaving a minute later, Ryan &
Sheng Ling ran to Cold Storage trying to catch up with the other team,
followed by Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen. While all 3 teams raced to Cold
Storage, last place Annie had just started to depart from the Pit Stop.
Team
Wan Jun & Eng Khim who had a 1 minute lead, reached Cold Storage in
first place followed by Ryan & Sheng Ling, Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen
and lastly Annie. Once at the Cold Storage, all teams learned that they
needed to head to the shop which Baleno also known as. Ryan & Sheng
Ling took the lead as they were the first ones to get their next clue
and were told to find Santa near MPH. Few minutes later; Wan Jun &
Eng Khim found the envelope containing their clue at Samuel Kevin.
Trying to avoid Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen from noticing, Wan Jun &
Eng Khim decided to wait for them to leave before taking the clue.
However, their plan did not work as Pei Lyn also spotted the clue. Soon
both teams ran to Santa. Ryan & Sheng Ling whom did not know that Santa was a shop; decided to search for “Santa Claus” instead. This
has
caused the other teams to catch up. However their lead was not affected
as they were the first teams to obtain their next clue and
discovered a Detour. A Detour is a choice between two tasks. In this
Detour, teams had to choose either to take a picture of the Chicken
Rice Shop logo or the Nike logo using their mobile phone. Once the
picture is taken, they had to head to Johnson
Fitness Store, the Pit Stop for this leg of the race. Ryan & Sheng
Ling opted for the Nike logo. As they
headed to the Nike shop, teams Eng Khim & Wan Jun and Pei Lyn &
Jia Sheen had just found their next clue. All of them opted for Nike. It
was then a battle between Ryan & Sheng Ling and Wan Jun & Eng
Khim for first place. Both teams took different routes to the Pit Stop.
In the end, it was Ryan & Sheng Ling who stepped onto the Pit Stop
in first place with Wan Jun & Eng Khim just few seconds behind.
Four minutes later, Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen checked in the Pit Stop in
third. Meanwhile, as all three teams checked in the Pit Stop, Annie was
still struggling to find Santa. In the end, she was the last one to
arrive and was the first one to be eliminated from The Amazing Race Teen Edition 3.
THIRD LEG
After a mandatory rest period allowing teams to eat and mingle, Ryan & Sheng Ling departed the Pit Stop at 2:03pm. Upon receiving their clue, the pair learned that they must head to the shop which sells “Peri Peri chicken”. Departing at 2:04pm, Wan Jun & Eng Khim soon joined Ryan & Sheng Ling at Nandos. In last place, Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen ran to their next destination in hopes of catching the two lead teams.
After
finding the clue at Nandos, all three teams read their clue and
encountered a Detour. This Detour offered teams a choice between Yamaha
or
Wan
Jun & Eng Khim maintained their lead as they were the first ones to
get their clue in front of Bonia. The clue instructed them to Readers
Corner which was the Pit Stop for this leg of the Race. Once at Bonia,
Wan Jun & Eng Khim started to fall behind as they thought Readers Corner was in MPH bookstore. In the end, Pei Lyn and Jia Sheen took the advantage and checked in the Pit Stop with a strong first place finish. Having to wait at Bonia for two minutes, Ryan & Sheng Ling continued their journey and battled to avoid elimination, desperately hoping for one team to screw up. In the end, yielded teams, Ryan & Sheng Ling finished in second place. Wan Jun & Eng Khim who both had a great start ended up in last place having come to terms with their impending elimination. To their surprise, Matthew (the host) informed them that this was the second of three pre-determined non-elimination legs. However, they must start the next leg 5 minutes after the rest.
FOURTH LEG Departing
the Pit Stop in first place at 2:47 pm, Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen
received their clue instructing them to make their way to Restaurant
Coca. Leaving a minute later, Ryan & Sheng Ling headed to
Restaurant Coca. And lastly, team Wan Jun & Eng Khim struggling
behind, trying their best to avoid elimination to enter the final leg.
The field was evened up as all team struggled to find Restaurant Coca. Ryan
& Sheng Ling were the first to arrive at Restaurant Coca and
discovered that they had to find one of the music shop in Subang Parade
which has the clue. A minute later, team Wan Jun & Eng Khim found
the restaurant and lastly Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen, who fell behind from
first to last. The
majority of the teams thought the music shop was “Speedy” but soon
realized that they were looking at the wrong shop. Ryan & Sheng
Ling maintained themselves at the top of the pack as they were the
first team to find their next clue at Rock Corner. Wan Jun & Eng
Khim and Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen soon followed behind. The teams were
then told that their next clue is situated at the Nike Shop. Again,
Ryan & Sheng Ling remained at the top as they were the first ones
to reach Nike. As they read their clue, they encountered a Detour. In
this Detour, teams had to choose between two pictures given in the
clue. One in MPH bookstore and another in World of Sports.
Wan Jun & Eng Khim who arrived at Nike next were forced to pause
for 2 minutes before continuing the race due the yield accessed by Ryan
& Sheng Ling. This had caused Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen who were
initially at last to overtake them. Teams
Ryan & Sheng Ling and Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen opted for World of
Sports whereas Wan Jun & Eng Khim chose MPH bookstore. Ryan &
Sheng Ling were the first to find their next clue followed by Pei Lyn
& Jia Sheen who were both not far behind. They were told to go to
Reject Shop to obtain their next clue. Meanwhile, at MPH bookstore, Wan
Jun & Eng Khim had problems finding the place based on the picture
given. Pei
Lyn & Jia Sheen took the lift up while Ryan & Sheng Ling used
the escalator. It was Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen who retrieved their next
clue first which instructed them to make their way to the Pit Stop at
the Chicken Rice Shop. Not far behind was Ryan & Sheng Ling who had
just lost their number 1 lead. In
the end, it was Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen who took first place again for
the second consecutive time while Ryan & Sheng Ling in second. Ten
minutes later, Wan Jun & Eng Khim stepped onto the Pit Stop in last
place. Little did they know; this leg was the last of three
pre-determined non-elimination legs rendering them to avoid being eliminated
once again.
Three
teams battling for the RM$35 price. Which team will win this third
season of The Amazing Race? Can Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen take advantage
on their one minute lead? Will Ryan & Sheng Ling redeem their first
place finish? Or will Wan Jun & Eng Khim jump to first place
despite 2 times being at the bottom? FINALE Departing
the Pit Stop in first place at 4:11 pm, Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen
discovered that they must head to Polo Haus to find their next clue. A
minute later, Ryan & Sheng Ling joined Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen at
Polo Haus. Meanwhile, Wan Jun & Eng Khim were just about to leave
the Pit Stop. It
got all evened up again as all three teams struggled to find the clue
envelope which was actually hidden right inside the wall in front of
Polo Haus. Sheng Ling managed to find the clue first helping her team
to get a head start. Just seconds behind were Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen
and Wan Jun & Eng Khim. They were then instructed to Sasa to claim
their next clue. Sheng Ling & Ryan, Pei
Lyn & Jia Sheen who were initially at first place were overtaken by
Wan Jun & Eng Khim in a foot race to Bijioux. As Wan Jun & Eng
Khim read their next clue, they were told to find the window that has a
view of the scenery based on the picture given in the clue. Pei Lyn
& Jia Sheen were catching up not far behind. Wan
Jun & Eng Khim then spotted the envelope which was stuck up high on
the wall near the window. Wan Jun was the one who took down the clue
for his team. Just seconds behind, Jia Sheen stood up and took the clue
for her team. Both teams then encountered a Detour. In this Detour
teams had to choose between Celini or Golfhouse. Meanwhile, Ryan &
Sheng Ling were still struggling to find the correct PlayStation shop. Both
teams Wan Jun & Eng Khim and Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen went in
different directions; Wan Jun & Eng Khim headed up to Celini, while
Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen went down to Golfhouse. As both teams retrieved
their next clue; they discovered that they had to head to the insurance
company. It was a tight race between both teams. Wan Jun & Eng Khim
took the escalator down to ask at the information counter. However,
unfortunately for them, the person at the information counter had given
the wrong directions- causing Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen to get ahead of
them. Once at the MAA insurance company, Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen were
both flabbergasted as they were told to head to the Pit Stop at Living
Quarter. Trying to catch up from behind, Wan Jun & Eng Khim raced to the MAA insurance company and then headed to the finish line. In
the end, it was Pei Lyn & Jia Sheen who ran across the finish line in
another spectacular first place finish then followed by Wan Jun &
Eng Khim who arrived just two minutes later. Meanwhile, things started
to get even rockier for Ryan & Sheng Ling as they were unable to
search for the correct window. In the end, they finished the Race
as the second runner ups of The Amazing Race Teen Edition 3.
